CQMA proudly delivers the Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) program, which supports the Queensland Government’s vision of an inclusive, harmonious and united Queensland.
Through a range of community initiatives, events and engagement activities, CAMS works to reduce barriers to participation, strengthen social connections, and create opportunities for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to contribute to and thrive within the Rockhampton community.
The program celebrates diversity, encourages inclusion, and fosters meaningful connections across cultures.
What to Expect
CQMA has proudly delivered the Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) program in the Rockhampton region for more than six years.
Through CAMS, we provide a range of practical programs, information and community activities designed to support people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to connect, participate and thrive.
Our current activities include:
- Conversational English classes.
- Learn to Drive courses.
- Subsidised driving lessons.
- Harmony Week celebrations and multicultural community events
Information sessions on topics such as renting a property, accessing legal and community services, employment pathways, and disaster preparedness. - Community connection and inclusion initiatives.

Through a range of locally delivered initiatives, CAMS supports people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to build skills, access opportunities, navigate services and participate fully in community life, while also strengthening the cultural responsiveness of local organisations, employers and community networks.
